COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Communication architecture
Vertical and horizontal communications
With rear support bases
Emergesat provides for TVB-RCS high-rate satellite link communications, and the exchange of data with decision-making centres and remote services (hospitals, airports, meteorological and cartographic centres, etc.).
In the field
Emergesat establishes a communication network between the various relief teams using short-range (< 50 km) communication technologies: GSM, WIFI and WIMAX;
wireless field computer network: the teams in the field operate with lightweight equipment, connected simply and unified (laptops, PC pads, PDA, GSM mobiles, GBRS, etc.).
server controlling the sharing of information required by all: each organisation has its own access (private and downloaded data).
Satellite communications
Satellite communications are the only means of communication when the terrestrial networks and infrastructures are damaged or have been knocked out.
Satellite communications are:
available at any point in the disaster zone
 easily deployable
interoperable with ground infrastructures still in service.
Which satellites?
Emergesat uses satellite-based technologies available at all times, anywhere in the world, in the areas of:
 Telecommunications
 |
Telecom 2 |
secure communication and data exchanges with the decision-making centres and remote services (videoconference, access to Internet, telemedicine, tele-epidemiology, etc.).
 Earth observation
 |
Galileo |
meteorology, oceanography, cartography (e.g. damage assessment) with activation of the International Charter on space and major disasters, etc.
Location/navigation
 |
Spot5 |
monitoring of relief teams, logistics, etc.
